A review by Paul Shard (famous for the award winning cruising documentary Distant Shores): Well I have finally found a solution that works GREAT in the form of an App for my phone! I have been testing it for some time, but they recently came up with an update and it is now really great!

Compatible with external GPS : gns2000 , Dual xgps, Bad Elf and Garlmin glo. With an external GPS you can use Anchor! on a Wifi only iPad and get improved accuracy on other models.
Compatible with Flic buttons (Bluetooth low energy buttons, they are splashproof, work locally and no hub is required to work with anchor)

Your 5 star rating on the app store makes us work harder to provide updates, don't hesitate to rate Anchor!

Great app
We sail and anchor 6 months every winter in Caribbean. This app works off line and the easy ability to move the anchor icon after we have set the hook is tremendous. I have a gps built into my iPad Pro. I believe this allows more accuracy. I seldom have WiFi available so no charts but in my opinion they are unnecessary as I know where I am I just want to know if I am dragging.
Maps/Cartes
Les cartes de nos ancrages favoris devraient pouvoir être téléchargés dans l'app pour pouvoir être utilisées hors-ligne ou l'app devrait pouvoir utiliser les cartes vectorielles de l'app Navionics
The maps are only available online, the app should be able to download ou favorite anchorage map to be used offline or be able to access Navionics maps stored on my phone.

Developer Response,
As advertised, there is no chart in this app. Charts are quite expensive, uses device’s space and cannot be shared between different apps on the same device. most people already buy charts from their favorite chart editor for navigation.
